The Usual Suspects: A Collection of Graffiti Art Show in Brooklyn, Friday, June 18, 2010, featuring art from renown NYC writers Dance TM5, Snatch CWK, Suerte, MCA1 CWK, Rebel NSA, MOS, Ceos, Poet, KC Oner TBC.

The InterContinental Hotels Group PLC is on its way to double its strength in the city with over 600 hotels. Their first in the initiative is a $500 million hotel comprising of 600-room at the Times Square area.

The hotel has been made in partnership with Tishman Hotel & Realty LP. The interiors have been designed by Jeffrey Beers International. The hotel lobby comprises of an outdoor garden, and the in-house amenities include oversized showers and computer facilities. The hotel will also be home to a 130-seat French restaurant by Chef Todd English.

And it cost a half a million a night. Just kidding. What I want to know is why we don’t spend this kind of money on helping the homeless?

Miami’s Independent Thinkers is seeking experimental video artists for the upcoming July 4th event at The Awarehouse.

Please submit your entries as soon as possible:

  • ELIGIBILITY: The competition is open to all experimental video artists living or working in South Florida. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to enter.
  • FILM SUBMISSIONS: Film may be up to 15 minutes in length. Please send artist contact information and artist statement along with links to the video submission. Please send all submissions to Kerry@MiamiThinkers.com with “JULY 4TH FILM SUBMISSION” in the subject field.
  • NOTIFICATION: Artists will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance no later than June 20th, 2010. Notifications will be made via email.
  • COMMISSION: There will be a 50% commission on any sales made during the exhibition. Miami’s Independent Thinkers staff will handle all sales.
  • DEADLINE: The final deadline for submissions is June 15th, 2010. Artists will be notified by June 20th, 2010.
  • ENTRY FEE: There is NO fee to enter.
