Currently on show at the Limner Gallery, in Hudson, New York, are new paintings by Slowinski, an artist that analyzes American cultural themes, influenced by the social and political issues of the moment. As the culture changes around him, the narrative element in his work changes to reflect it.
Chicken Soup
Road to Ruin
Slowinski’s first solo exhibition in New York City was at the Cat Club in New York City in 1985. Following this show, he was invited to exhibit at the S.R. Rage Gallery in 1986. Since 1987, Slowinski’s paintings are featured in yearly solo exhibitions at the Limner Gallery as well as in various National and International group exhibitions.
A lover of the comic and absurd, his humor presents messages with a humor that lends objectivity to both himself and the viewer.
The show runs through July 2011.
