Hukazawa Naohiro Hisahiro Fukasawa was born in 1976 in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture and attended Osaka University of Arts, graduating in 2001. Fukasawa current lives in Tokyo. Using a pencil or acrylic paint, and gold leaf (traditional Japanese painting techniques), Fukasawa creates gorgeous works, by combining elements to portray modern Japanese identity with a traditional fusion flair.

Currently showing at the Kunstalle Dusseldorf is “Eating the Universe”. Eat Art, a term coined by coined by Swiss Artist Daniel Spoerri for art made with and involving food, has its institutionalized origins in Düsseldorf.
