On this day in 1862, the Mexican army defeated the French at the Battle of Puebla. To commemorate, we all enjoy this day, the 5th of May, with large amounts of tequila. Cheers to a happy one.

From the architecture firm, J. Mayer. H. Architects, comes the project ‘Sonnenhof’ consisting of four new offices and apartment buildings, extending over multiple allotments in the Jena, Germany’s historical centre.

Maud Durland is an award-winning Portland, Oregon watercolorist who captures her motifs in a figurative and contemporary style. She is known for her calming renderings of landscapes and she also paints a variety of other subjects. Light and shadow are essential components in her paintings.
