The Las Olas Art Fair returns for its 23rd anniversary on October 23 – 24, 2010, featuring the work of the nation’s leading artists including new and emerging talent. This top ranked fair has become a highly anticipated fall tradition attracting locals and tourists alike. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photos, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand-designed earrings to $20,000 metal sculptures. Admission is free and open to the public.
This two-day event brings together more than 150 of the nation’s most talented artists who will collectively display over $15 million in artwork, available for sale. The artists were juried by an independent panel of expert judges, and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All of their artwork is original and handmade in America.
“This is a fabulous opportunity for festival goers to discover quality original works of art by top national and local artists as well as new and emerging talent in one location,” says festival promoter Howard Alan. “Art is a tangible investment that you can enjoy while it appreciates in value and at the same time take part in supporting the arts.”
Howard Alan Events stipulates that all artists are required to be on-site for the entire duration of the show. The artists will line Las Olas Boulevard with their professional display booths, transforming the area into a first-class outdoor art gallery. The public can meet and talk with the artists personally, asking questions about their art and inspirations.
With its casual outdoor setting, boasting fine boutiques, great restaurants and fabulous city atmosphere, the Las Olas Art Fair makes the arts accessible to a broad audience. The event appeals to family and friends as a free and fun weekend activity, as well as serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.
