The London Tube: It is usually referred to officially as ‘the Underground’. The Modern Underground has 270 stations and around 250 miles of track, making it the longest metro system in the world by route length.

The Washington Metrorail: Commonly called the Metro, is the rapid transit system for the city of Washington D.C. and the surrounding suburbs in Virginia and Maryland. The Metro is the second-busiest rapid transit system in the United States with over 800,000 riders a day.

The Boston T: The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (the T) started with one of the oldest railroads in the country. The Boston & Lowell Railroad was chartered in 1830, connecting Boston to Lowell. It was one of the oldest railroads in America and the first major one in Massachusetts.

The Chicago L: With over 650,000 riders each day, the ‘L’ is the third-busiest and second-largest mass transit system in the United States.
