Otto Rapp was born in 1944 in Felixdorf, Lower Austria and educated in Vienna. Initially a self-taught painter, he studied at various Galleries and Museums. In Vienna, he often hung out at the Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste, where he admired the work of the Wiener Schule des Phantastischen Realismus.
Encouraged by an art dealer he began to paint more seriously. After intense traveling he settled in Lethbridge, Alberta, and in 1977 to attended the University of Lethbridge and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
It is apparent the surrealistic master, Salvador Dali, was an influence in his work.
You can see more of his fantastic trippy pieces on his website.
