JIM HENSON’S ‘FANTASTIC WORLD’ EXHIBIT
The National Heritage Museum in Lexington, MA will host the exhibit “Jim Henson’s Fantastic World” from April 3 through June 27, 2010. The show, organized by the Smithsonian Institution, The Jim Henson Legacy, and The Biography Channel, celebrates the life of Muppets creator Jim Henson and features work from throughout his career.
The exhibition features 100 original artworks, including drawings, cartoons and storyboards that illustrate Henson’s talent as a storyteller and visionary. Among the variety of exhibition objects are puppets and television and movie props, photographs of Henson and his collaborators at work and original video productions, including excerpts from Henson’s early career and experimental films. QUENTIN TARANTINO GETS WAXED
Madame Tussaud’s Berlin presented the wax figure of U.S. director Quentin Tarantino in an unveiling ceremony on March 23rd, which is on loan from Hollywood.
DALE GRIMSHAW’S ‘ARCANA’ SHOW AT SIGNAL GALLERY, LONDON
Dale Grimshaw’s third solo show entitled ‘Arcana’ at the Signal Gallery in London, England, opens April 9th, 2010 and features a large number of highly stylized self-portraits and portraits.
His work celebrates the art of painting and the mediums power to depict atmosphere, evoke memories and stir emotions.
